Gleam Glitter Cream
Gleam Glitter Cream is a skin safe mix of cosmetic grade polyester glitters in various sizes and shapes blended into a wax style cosmetic base. Created by Florida face and body painter Jackie Howe, this skin safe glitter suspension allows artists to add dazzling glitter accents on top of dry face and body painting without smudging the design. It also works well for hair and nails.
Each 10 gram jar contains a custom blend of quality glitters in a clear base. The jars have screwable lids that allow for stacking for storage and transportation. The exact glitter weight varies based on fluffiness and density of the specific glitter particles and base used in each glitter blend.
GLEAM is stable in all weather conditions, can be applied over dry face or body paint and won’t melt when exposed to heat or cold. It can be used with a silicone applicator or the clean end of a paint brush. It can be applied over line work, flowers, unicorn manes and any other fantasy designs. It can be rubbed in with the fingers or the back of the hand for extra shine. GLEAM is also very easy to remove using soap and water or a card such as a business card can be used to glide across the skin lifting off most of the cream.
Simply Glitter Gel
This low viscosity gel is packed with dazzling glitter for a full-coverage sparkle. It is also great to use as a base for nail art, such as marbelling. It dries quickly and stays on for hours. It comes in jars that are easy to open and close, making it convenient for use. This gel is available in several colors and is ideal for proms, grad nights, or PRIDE events. It can be easily removed with a paper towel or makeup wipe and washed with soap and water.
This body glitter is custom mixed and hand-blended with love by Elektra Cosmetics. It’s the go-to for drag queens, cheerleaders, cosplayers and Soccer Moms. It contains chunky and fine glitters in a clear aloe vera gel base to keep it in place (but is NOT eyelid safe). It can be worn on hair, face or body but not near eyes. It’s vegan and cruelty-free.
Glitter Gel can be used as an overlay on acrylic or gel nails and can be cured under a UV/LED lamp. It is a Glitter Dragonfly Gel better option than loose glitter, as it is easier to work with and doesn’t require the removal of most of the product. It can also be encapsulated for a glitter ombre look.
When encapsulating, apply a thin layer of a crystal-clear gel like Lexy Line Cool Gel or a similar product before applying the Glitter Gel. It’s enough to cover the cuticle area, sidewalls and free edge of the nail. Then pick up more of the gel with a nail art brush and place it where you want the apex to be.
Chunky Glitter
Chunky glitter offers a more dramatic sparkle that’s great for adding a pop of eye-catching color to your craft projects. It can be used as a background layer, or even in a mix with fine glitters to create a two-toned ombre effect. These larger glitter particles also have the potential to adhere better to surfaces than finer options, making them ideal for projects that will come into contact with moisture or water.
While you can buy both fine and chunky glitters from wholesale suppliers, the best option for your needs depends on the desired outcome of your project. Fine glitters provide a subtle, refined shimmer that’s perfect for delicate designs and intricate details. Chunky mixes, on the other hand, create a bold and eye-catching effect that’s well suited for large areas or statement pieces.
Another factor to consider is the ease of application of your chosen type of glitter. Fine glitters tend to be easier to work with because of their smaller particle size. They also lay flat more effortlessly than chunky mixes, which can create a series of “peaks and valleys” as they are applied. This can result in uneven coverage and a finish that may not reflect light properly. For this reason, finer glitters are often preferred by novices.
